Anonymize a PowerPoint deck in your browser

Anonymize any document before it reaches an AI. Nothing leaves your device. Slides, speaker notes and tables are scanned; layouts, images and animations stay exactly where they were.

What stays intact

What we preserve in PowerPoint files

The file is edited in place: only the detected text changes. Everything else is written back byte for byte where possible.

  • Slide layouts and masters

Placeholders, themes and master slides are copied unchanged. Only text runs inside shapes are edited.

  • Speaker notes

Notes pages are scanned like slide text; a client name in the notes is replaced with the same label as on the slide.

  • Tables and charts

Table cells are text units. Chart labels stored as text are scanned; embedded chart data is left as is.

  • Images and media

Pictures, video and audio are not touched. Text rendered inside an image is not read.

  • Animations and transitions

Timing and animation definitions reference shapes by ID, and IDs never change.

  • Grouped shapes and SmartArt text

Text inside groups and diagram data parts is included in detection.

What gets detected

Names, numbers and identifiers: three layers

Patterns with checksums (IBAN, national IDs, card numbers, emails, phones, URLs, IPs, dates, plates), your own dictionary of names and terms, and an optional model that runs in your browser for person, company and place names.

  • Person names
  • Companies and brands
  • Places and addresses
  • Emails and phone numbers
  • National IDs, tax IDs, passports
  • IBANs and card numbers
  • URLs and IP addresses
  • Dates and license plates

Questions

PowerPoint questions, answered

Are speaker notes anonymized too?

Yes. Notes are often where the real client names live; they are scanned together with the slides and share the same mapping.

Will my slide design change?

No. Themes, layouts, fonts and positions are preserved because only the text content inside existing runs is replaced.

What happens to text in images or screenshots?

Nothing. Images are copied without changes and no OCR is performed. Check screenshots manually before sharing.

Can I anonymize several decks at once?

Yes, up to 10 files of 50 MB each per run. Each file gets its own mapping table.

Do I also get a text version for pasting into a chat?

Yes. Next to the PPTX you get a Markdown rendition, slide by slide, ready to paste into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

Does the deck leave my computer?

No. Everything runs in your browser; there are 0 network requests during processing.
